Ethel Kennedy wants Taylor Swift in her ’hood

Ethel Kennedy said she’d be pleased to have Taylor Swift become a permanent fixture around the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport either as a neighbor — or a granddaughter-in-law!

The clan matriarch, walking the red carpet at the JFK Library premiere of daughter Rory’s HBO documentary, “Ethel” last night, said, “I hope so!” when we asked if she thought grandson Conor Kennedy and the Grammy-winning country gal might tie the knot.

And when we asked if Taylor had, in fact, bought the house across the street from Ethel in Hyannisport, we got the same reply.

“I hope so!” Ethel said.

Now while Conor might want to finish high school before he runs off and ties the knot (he’s just a junior and just turned 18 this past summer), we hear that it’s a pretty good bet that Taylor did, indeed, buy that $5 million manse on Marchant Avenue, spitting distance from the fabled Compound.

The “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together” singer was as cagey as Ethel when Rolling Stone asked her if she was the proud owner of the 7-bedroom, 5A-bath waterfront estate. “That would be so amazing,” she said.

Not exactly a denial ...

Sadly, Tay-Tay couldn’t make the scene in Dorchester last night for Ethel’s big premiere, but sis-in-law Joan Kennedy did slip into the library to catch the flick, and grandson, congressional candidate Joe Kennedy III, was scheduled to arrive later in the evening.

Ethel admitted that she was “a little uncomfortable” sitting down in front of the camera to talk about herself and her storied life for the flick.

“Rory doesn’t hold back, but she makes it bearable,” she said. “I’m excited, I’m happy ... I think (the film) is miraculous.”
